reflection:
Through sewing a swimming bolero from scratch to protect myself from the sun, I learned so much about the process of making a garment from start to finish. I became more confident in using a sewing machine learning how to thread it properly, adjust the tension, and control the speed and stitch length. I practiced basic stitches like straight stitching and backstitching, and I also learned how important it is to measure and pin accurately to get clean seams. Working with stretch fabric taught me to be patient and precise, and I now have a better understanding of how to choose the right materials for specific purposes. Overall, this project really improved my sewing skills and gave me a sense of pride in creating something both useful and personal.
